| After five years of planning, and a campaign in 1994 to restore the spire, work began in earnest on 1st March 1997. Soon prodigious amounts of earth were being moved, even inside the nave by Jason's mini-digger, with Sandy on the dumper, while big Jim wielded the breaker. |
